Imagine taking two of the best RDAs currently available and combining their best features into a new RDA. complete? Well, you can stop imagining, because that’s exactly what Hellvape has done with the new Hellvape Drop Dead 2 RDA. From the names, it should be easy to tell which RDAs they combine.
The Drop Dead 2 RDA is a collaboration between The Vapor Chronicles and Heathen, taking the best features of the Drop RDA and Dead Rabbit RDA to deliver a new yet still familiar vaping experience. But is Drop Dead really any good, or is it just a quick cash grab?
To find out, I spent a few weeks testing and reviewing the Drop Dead 2 RDA. In this review, I’ll go over everything you need to know about the latest Hellvape, TVC, and Heathen creations.
The Digiflavor Drop and Dead Rabbit are already two great-looking RDAs. So it’s no surprise that their love child, the Drop Dead RDA, is a very attractive tank. In appearance, the Drop Dead 2 RDA looks more like the Dead Rabbit. It has the same knurling on the top cap as the Dead Rabbit and has a modified Dead Rabbit logo engraved on the front of the tank. The logo features two “D”s back to back, which stands for “Drop Dead.”
As we’ve come to expect from a collaboration of this caliber, Drop Dead is extremely well-crafted. The logo engraving and knurling are precision etched and all parts of the tank are clean machine cut. The quality of Drop Dead’s paint is also a huge plus. I had no issues with the paint peeling or peeling. Even after a few drops on a hard surface, this baby didn’t leave any scratches on it.
Drop Dead 2 offers two 810 drip tips: one is resin-like on the Dead Rabbit 2 RDA and the other is matte-like on the Drop RDA. Very cool. There is a decorative ring on the resin drip tip that says “HELLVAPE“. The ring surrounds the base of the gargoyle and blends together seamlessly to look like one piece. However, this decorative ring is not suitable for frosted drip tips.
As mentioned before, the Drop Dead RDA has a knurled top cover which makes it very easy to grip. It’s also super easy to turn the top cover and adjust the airflow; it’s smooth as butter. This is a welcome improvement, as both the Dead Rabbit and Drop have top caps that are a bit of a pain to turn.
The airflow on the Drop Dead 2 is again a hybrid of its parent, the RDA. The airflow is located near the top of the tank, like a dead rabbit, but is made up of small holes, like water droplets. There are a total of twenty-eight airflow holes on the Drop Dead. It is divided into fourteen airflow holes on each side of the tank, arranged in two rows of seven holes each.
